Environmentalist II

NHDES Coastal Program is seeking a dynamic candidate to assist with the implementation of NH’s Tidal Crossing Assessment Protocol. This part-time, grant funded position provides a unique opportunity for a qualified individual to implement the NH Tidal Protocol at all of the ±120  tidal crossings in NH. The Tidal Crossing Assessment Coordinator will work closely with personnel from NHDES, The Nature Conservancy, and UNH Technology Transfer Center on data collection, data management, and data analysis in order to rank and prioritize tidal crossings based on a selection of ecosystem, hazard mitigation and climate resiliency evaluation criteria.  The ideal candidate will have knowledge of salt marsh ecology or freshwater stream habitat assessment or engineering survey methods, as well as demonstrated environmental field work experience. This 1 year long position will be based out of the NHDES Portsmouth Field Office and is expected to start April 2018.
